This website is dedicated to finding solace and healing through art and renewing the spirit through creative expression.

The need to remember and memorialize the experiences of 9/11 is embedded deep within me. I was displaced from my badly damaged art loft directly across the street from the World Trade Center following the terrorist attacks. My voice is that of an eyewitness, survivor, displaced resident, art lover and artist.

Memorials sprang up everywhere. I was compelled to create my own memorial using flowers from the Red Cross Disaster Center, Diet Pepsi cans, and a Stars and Strips scarf from a local street vendor.

Working with flowers in a creative way had always brought peace to me. I found it therapeutic for me to transform the trauma into images that offered comfort.

My recently published book “Fortunate: A Personal Diary of 9/11” presents images of my floral interpretations of the events.

I also plan to present artwork by my colleagues, reflecting their reaction to the disaster.

I hope you too will find solace through my images.
